About Us
About Jack
My early childhood was spent in Tilpa NSW. We moved to Bourke when I was four and I left school there on 25th April 1955, just before my 15th birthday. I went droving with my uncle and later had my own droving plant and also worked on several large properties. My wife and I were married in 1965 and bought "Corella" Station. Later on we bought the adjoining property of "Corella East", giving us a large area for running 9,000 sheep plus cattle.
I had a good relationship with my Aboriginal friends, whom I often employed. They were very good at handling stock. We had some great times together.
My wife and I are now retired in Queensland. We have two grown up sons, Peter and Andrew.
A lot of the remedies in this book were handed down to me through my family. Others were gained through my own experiences in the bush and through talking with friends and acquaintances.
I have included some jokes and amusing anecdotes in some of the books, as a good laugh every day is very good medicine.
